Brad Pitt doesn’t believe marriage is “just a title”.

The 50-year-old actor wed longtime partner Angelina Jolie last month in Château Miraval, France. He graces the November issue of Britain's GQ, and opened up to the magazine about the change he felt when they became husband and wife. “I wouldn’t say [marriage is] just a title. There’s more to it than that,” he explained.

The Hollywood star and film producer shares six children with Angelina, and admits family has become the centre of his universe, secondary to work.

With their oldest already 13, Brad revealed it takes an incredible project for him to consider being away from their kids.

“I’ve been slowing down for a while now,” he said. “And slowly transitioning to other things. And, truthfully, I do want to spend more time with my kids before they’re grown up and gone.”

He also opened up about good friend George Clooney who married lawyer Amal Alamuddin in Venice, Italy at the weekend.

Asked about George’s recent comments that Brad is “unreachable”, the actor suggested their approaches to communication simply differ.

“Well, you know, George is extremely accessible,” Brad reasoned. “He’s one of our best representatives. He’s funny as sh*t. He’s a joy to be around. I guess maybe I’m more of a miserable b*****d.

“I’m a bit of a loner you know? I’m more quiet by nature. And coming from, you know, hillbilly country, I’m probably more reserved.”

He also spoke candidly about his desire, or lack there of, to pursue happiness in all areas of life. It’s not a feeling he places high value on, however.

“I’ve always believed happiness is overrated, you know?” Brad asked, explaining: “It’s those difficult times that inform the next wonderful time, and it’s a series of trade-offs, of events, of wins and losses.”
