After 12 days of interviews and tough physical challenges Mr India, Rohit Khandelwal, beat 46 other finalists to be crowned Mr World 2016.

Rohit, an actor and model, is the first Indian to have won the coveted title. The Mr World finals were held in Southport in Britain. Sayan Sur Roy, a friend of Rohit (26), told the Daily Mail Australia how he witnessed Rohit change from a humble, simple guy into the actor and model he is now.
Sayan said Rohit moved to Mumbai two years ago to chase his dream of becoming an actor and model.

Rohit battled to land roles before getting a small role in a TV series. Friends then encouraged him to enter the Mr India competition. “I don’t think he was interested in entering the Mr India and Mr World competitions – until he started doing modelling,” Sayan says.
“He worked hard to become Mr India and twice as hard to become Mr World.”
In the Mr World competition finalists from around the world had to compete in five challenges – fashion and style, extreme challenges, multimedia, sport and talent.
“I’m privileged to be Mr World 2016. So far it’s been an incredible journey and I can’t wait to see what will happen next,” Rohit says of his victory.
