According to Netwerk24, the baby's family rushed to the hospital where he had been taken for observation after hearing he had been found.

The suspects were expected to appear in Worcester Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on abduction charges.

The baby went missing during visiting hours on Thursday around 19:50.

The incident occurred exactly a year after 19-year-old Zephany Nurse was found.

Nurse was abducted from the Groote Schuur Hospital in 1997 and found on February 25, 2015.

A 51-year-old woman was arrested and is standing trial for the alleged kidnapping.

The matter came to light when Nurse's biological sister, who is four years younger, told her parents that a girl in matric at her school bore a striking resemblance to her and her parents.

When the parents discovered the girl had the same birthday as their missing child, they reported it to police.

DNA tests confirmed the teen was their daughter.

The Nurse trial continues on Monday.
