What’s it about?

A neurotic palooka tries to win back the love of his life – at her wedding to someone else! Will he succeed?

Who will enjoy it?

Anyone who’s allowed the right person to get away, only to shed tears later.

At first it looks as if this flick is on the same dodgy track that’s taken so many other romantic comedies to disaster but it’s actually a welcome exception.

The main character (Angarano) has a cool way about him that will weaken the heart of any potential mother-in-law. He’s comfortable in his skin, reminiscent of a young Woody Allen but with a six-pack and cute dimples.

The romantic misunderstandings are a bit more original and convincing than in similar comedies.

In fact, it plays not only with young people’s idea of true love but also with their hormone levels – Thurman is still super-sexy and can also act.

It’s the perfect movie for a first date, or even one to go and see on the weekend with a bunch of mates when you need to get away from your studies.

Clumsy, charming small guys who always say the wrong thing at the wrong time are seldom portrayed with such empathy or given such a cool hairdo.

It gives the Romeo-and-Juliet story a fresh twist and is totally worth the R45 ticket price.
