What’s it about?

To commemorate the original murders Sydney Prescott returns to the town where she was nearly killed to launch a book. Can anyone be so stupid? Of course there’s a another murderer ready to strike again!

Who will enjoy it?

Adrenaline junkies who start tingling with excitement at the sight of someone donning a death mask. This fourth instalment in the horror franchise shamelessly tries to copy the charm (if that’s the right word) of the first scream-out-loud flick – and succeeds.

Director Wes Craven is the master of confusion. With a grin he lures you onto his fun-park ride – then takes the brakes off. So if you enjoy the thrill of a headless downhill rush as your blood chills in pure horror it’s definitely your kind of movie.

Craven actually cheats a bit when he shows who the guilty party is but you forgive him because on the way to him revealing it you’ll laugh, shamelessly repeat cliches (“I’ll be back!”) and wonder how Sydney could be silly enough to enter a dark room when she knows a monster is after her blood.

This flick is such a heartstopping (bloody) delight it should be illegal! The only thing that will make you scream more is a kidney stone.
