What’s it about?

In the ’80s a famous Russian conductor loses his job because he dares to employ Jewish musicians in his orchestra.

Decades later he’s working as a cleaner at a well-known opera house when he happens to hear Paris’ famous Châtelet Teater has invited the Bolshoi company to France and he grabs the opportunity to put his old orchestra back together to go in the place of the Bolshoi orchestra.

Who will enjoy it?

I know what you’re thinking – a Russian movie with subtitles . . . how could it possibly be entertaining or interesting? But believe me, if you love good music and films this is the real deal. The story will have you hooked within the first five minutes and the unexpected touches of humour, beautiful music, wit and colourful characters will mesmerise you.

This highly original tale of an impossible dream that came true is real food for the soul.

Wait for DVD?

No! You have to be part of an audience in a theatre to appreciate being carried away by brilliant music performed by the world’s top musicians.

Besides, there’s so much generic entertainment on at the moment you should grab this chance to experience a truly compelling, excellent film.
