What’s it about?

A group of cool Australian schoolkids go on a camping trip – and return home to find a foreign power has invaded their country!

Who will enjoy it?

If you’re young at heart and have calluses on your fingers from SMSing you’ll find this cool war drama with its up-to-date approach a complete thrill. It’s just the thing for iPad users who play videogames on their cellphones and spend their lives on Facebook.

The cast is easy on the eye and the action scenes tough and over-the-top. And what fun to see youngsters taking on hardened old soldiers, often in a more realistic way than you’re likely to see in most sci-fi flicks.

This teen movie has more to it than just sixpacks and hormones; it shows young people who can fight a war even if they haven’t been to bootcamp, and sci-fi can be given a fresh twist and a modern beat.

The young cast show they can carry a movie – and that laid-back dudes can also be patriotic and brave when their country is under threat. Cool.
