What’s it about?

A vicious bully has an iron grip on an elite school where he reigns supreme. Then things go wrong at a party . . .

Who will enjoy it?

Teenagers who are fed up with bullies and a school system that fails both teachers and learners. There’s not an adult to be seen in this psychedelic, eerie, probing thriller that delves into warped, spaced-out teen minds.

The director filmed this drama as if these youngsters live on their own planet, caught up in their own noisy, computer-generated existence, oblivious to what goes on in the world.

It’s a pitch-black, stylised thriller for a new generation of kids who know more about video-games, SMSes, Twitter, depression and drugs than those of five years ago.

It’s breathtakingly fresh but is likely to appeal to an extremely limited audience – it’s definitely not for adults who like more serious films that “make sense”.

It takes you inside the teenage subconscious mind and literally drowns you in those brain juices and testosterone (as symbolised by the swimming pool) until you become part of the teens’ angry, despondent universe. For a change

it’s a serious examination of teen issues – it shows tortured souls trapped in their own lives, unable to communicate with the rest of the world. Experimental and way beyond cool.
