The 37 year old Hlengiwe Twala from Hartebeespoort Dam in North West has been crowned the new Mrs SA for 2017 on Friday night.

This model and mum of three will also represent South Africa at the international Mrs World competition in Incheon, South Korea, this Wednesday. During the lavish pageant Olwethu Leshabane was crowned as first princess while Lilliane Lulli-Marruchi won the second princess prize.

Claire Gardiner was awarded the title of Mrs Charity after raising the most funds during her tenure as finalist for CANSA.

South Africa's own Candice Abrahams, the current Mrs World and previous winner of Mrs South-Africa, was also in attendance at Emperor's Palace in Johannesburg.
