A new social network exclusively for pets and their owners launched in Britain this week.

Pet owners are notoriously chatty about their furry (or scaly) friends. Now thanks to My Social Petwork, a social network just for pets and their owners, they can share even more.

The Telegraph reported that owners register by creating an account for themselves and one for their animals. Owners can then post news, photos and videos, with particularly cute animals getting to feature on the home page. The design is similar to Pinterest, with a strong focus on pictures.

Not surprisingly, since last year cat owners already have had their own network called Catmoji.

But the network does have a charitable angle: animal welfare societies are using it to find homes for abandoned pets.

“With millions of pet owners posting pictures, videos and updates about their pets on to their social media channels every week, My Social Petwork is the UK’s first social networking site to give pet owners of all breeds and species the chance to come together in one place,” Catriona Golden from PEP Publishing, which owns the website, said.
