Now for the name game

They want to try for another child when the 2010 World Cup is over, YOU said last year – and it turns out we were right on target.

One of the most talked-about couples in the world recently announced they’re adding to their brood of three boys – and Victoria and David Beckhamdesperately hope this time they’ll have a little girl.

“I have great news to tell you,” Becks wrote to fans on his Facebook wall. “Victoria and I are expecting a fourth child this summer [SA’s winter]. The boys are very excited about the arrival of their new brother or sister.”

Before the announcement the couple broke the happy news to loved ones at Beckingham Palace, their £18-million (about R198 million) mansion in Hertfordshire, England.

“There was a lot of hugging and a few tears,” a family friend says.

“We feel wonderful,” adds Jacqueline Adams, Victoria’s mother. “Both our family and David’s are extremely thrilled by the news.”

Although Victoria (36) and David (35) won’t say how far the pregnancy is, close friends have indicated it’s just over three months. The family’s spokesperson declined to confirm this or say anything about the baby’s gender.

Victoria has never made a secret of the fact she’d love a little girl with whom she can “paint nails, put on make-up and choose clothes”.

Last year she said she would feel “blessed” to have a daughter one day.

Posh and Becks will know the baby’s gender after a routine 16-week scan, a close friend says. “If it’s another son he’ll be surrounded by love – but it’s no secret a girl would be particularly special for them.”
