One Direction will be performing at Richard Branson's New Year's Eve party.

Boyband One Direction have been booked to perform at Virgin boss Richard Branson's New Year’s Eve party on his Necker Island home in the Caribbean.

The British business mogul’s commercial space flights take to the air next year and he’s planning to launch the venture with a huge party at his island paradise in the Caribbean where the Best Song Ever group – comprised of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne – will perform.

"One Direction have been asked to be the main attraction and perform at the party,” a source told the Daily Mirror newspaper.

“Officially the bash is being thrown to celebrate the start of Virgin Galactic’s space flights, which will be launched by the end of 2014. But it won’t be “worky” event. Sir Richard wants everyone to let their hair down and have a good time. He’s invited guests to stay for a decadent party."

The trip could bring back memories for band member Harry Styles, as he was holidaying on the British Virgin Islands last year with girlfriend Taylor Swift when they split up. But after they’d parted he headed to Richard's idyllic tropical resort where he was photographed surrounded by beautiful women in a hot tub.

Those who have signed up for the space flight – which costs a cool $250,000 (R2,5 million) a ticket – are expected to be on the guest list for the event and reportedly include Ashton Kutcher, Brad Pitt, Justin Bieber, Kate Winslet and Russell Brand. - Bang Showbiz Share your thoughts:
