Britain's Prince George wore a designer sweater in new images released by the British royal family.

The 16-month-old son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is seen in a navy tank top featuring iconic London guardsman sporting red military jackets and black bearskin. The garment was produced by British designer Cath Kidston. The little boy wore it with a long sleeved white polo shirt with a collar, navy shorts and matching knee high socks.

To make the images released by Kensington Palace even more adorable, the toddler shows off his cheeky side with a series of grins and smiles.

The shots were taken on the steps of the courtyard of his royal residence at Kensington Palace. His parents continued to buck the tradition of formal photographs, instead favouring the informal setting and choosing a member of their staff to take the precious snaps. The man in question was Edward Lane Fox, Prince Harry’s private secretary, who has previously worked as a freelance photographer. He joined the household office of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry at Kensington Palace in 2013. It comes after the couple chose to release a picture taken by Kate's father Michael Middleton as the first official photograph of their little boy soon after his birth.

The toddler clearly feels comfortable in front of the camera and is following in his parents fashionable footsteps.

His mom and dad recently returned from a whirlwind tour of America which took in New York and Washington. Pregnant Kate wowed the crowds during the visit in a series of glamorous ensembles including a midnight blue Jenny Packham gown and statement earrings.
