The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may be planning two more children, after keeping three tiers of their wedding cake, rather than the traditional one for the christening of their firstborn.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may be planning two more children.

Prince William and his wife stuck with tradition by keeping the top tier of their wedding cake, to be served at the christening of their first son, Prince George, who was born in July.

However, Fiona Cairns ? who made the huge eight-tier cake for the couple's big day in 2011? has now revealed they also kept the two tiers below it, prompting speculation they could be reserving them for siblings to the young Prince.

When asked, Fiona told the Daily Mail newspaper, "I really don't know. I'm not even sure how they've stored the cakes.

"If they wanted to use one for Prince George's christening, it would be fine, though. The icing would have to be redone but the cake itself will be as good as it was on the day."

Fiona (57) admitted she found making the cake ? which included 17 different types of flower and foliage, each with a different symbolic meaning ? one of the hardest tasks of her career.

She added, "It was the most stressful thing I've ever done. I had sleepless nights beforehand because when you've done this for as long as I have, you know what can go wrong. We had every eventuality covered ? there was even a second cake waiting ? but you're still a bag of nerves. I have to confess, I had a little weep while we were setting up in Buckingham Palace."

However, the final cake was a huge hit and the Duke and Duchess personally congratulated her.

She added, "William and Catherine said it had surpassed their expectations, which was wonderful. At the end of the day, all that matters with wedding cakes is that the couple involved are happy with it."
