Remember when Donald Trump tweeted this pretty gross thing about Kate Middleton?

... So, things are going to get awkward on Donald's state visit to Buckingham Palace.

Way back before he was the, uh, honorable President Trump, Donald had some interesting things to say about life and the universe on Twitter.

You can read more about that here.

Of course, he's now Commander-in-Chief of the Land of the Free, and is much smarter about what he puts into the Twitterverse.

Sure, he's all about ending the 'Merican Carnage (more on that here), but he was very civil to British Prime Minister Teresa May when she popped in to say hi at the White House this week.

In fact, Madame Prime Minister, as CNN reports he called her, even invited her new pal from across the pond to visits Buckingham Palace on his first official visit to the UK.

Well now. That's going to be rather awkward.

Given what he tweeted about the Duchess of Cambridge in 2012.

In that fateful year, poor Kate was in the public eye after some paparazzi snapped some topless photos of her while she was holidaying in the South of France.

In fact, the six men accused of selling those photos just went on trial a few weeks ago and could face a year in jail in addition to a £38 000 (R642 000) fine, Refinery reports.

The mom of two suffered a “grotesque breach of privacy”, he lawyer told the court this week, and felt “violated” after the pictures appeared in a magazine in 2012.

At the time, Donald jumped into the fray, as he is wont to do from time to time.

Buzzfeed uncovered evidence thereof in this rather undiplomatic tweet:

So... will Kate be around when Trump and co descend on Buckingham Palace in the months to come? And will the Queen bring it up?

Oh, to be a fly on the gilded walls...
