Rihanna is reportedly ready to agree to terms to perform at the BRIT Awards.

There have been whispers that the 26-year-old singer could be taking to the stage at the upcoming UK music ceremony since the end of last month. It was initially thought the plan might not happen as she was slated to rock the Grammys, but that went so well she’s apparently hoping for a repeat performance on February 25.

“BRITs bosses have wanted to get Rihanna for a long time, but they’ve been waiting for an answer,” an insider told British newspaper The Sun.

“She has been finalising her album plans and wanted to get the Grammys out of the way before confirming a second performance.”

Rihanna took to the stage alongside Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney at Sunday’s ceremony in Los Angeles. They performed their track FourFiveSeconds and it went down a storm with the audience, although it’s unlikely to be what Rihanna wows with later this month.

“It looks highly likely that Kanye and Macca will both be unable to make the performance too so she could sing an entirely different song,” the source said.

“FourFiveSeconds would be tough for Rihanna to sing on her own so it’s possible she will debut a new song entirely on the O2 Arena stage.”

If the plans go ahead it will be the icing on the cake for BRIT Awards’ organisers, who already have a stellar roster of performers lined up. Taylor Swift will be taking to the stage, as well Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran.

Earlier this month it was confirmed that Madonna will also perform for the crowd.

“We're delighted to bring Madonna back to the BRITs," said the awards’ chairman Max Lousada. "She's an icon, an innovator and, above all, an entertainer. Having her as part of the show will guarantee an unforgettable night of music."
