Queen Elizabeth is looking for a new trainee butler.

Queen Elizabeth is looking for a trainee butler after the shock departure of Badar Azim.

The royal household is advertising for a new trainee to work at Buckingham Palace after the shock departure of Badar Azim, who was sent back to his home city of Kolkata, India, when his work visa recently expired.

Badar played a significant part in the announcement of newborn Prince George by placing the official announcement of his birth on an easel outside Buckingham palace.

The royal family are now looking for a replacement trainee butler or footman, with an advert on the British monarchy website stating the applicant must "possess a friendly, polite and approachable disposition with the ability to maintain confidentiality".

The post requires the applicant to work 45 hours a week and comes with a salary of £15 000 (R240 000), although there are other benefits included such as accommodation.

The advert is for a post at Buckingham Palace, but states the applicant must be "willing to travel and work at other royal residences in the UK, where you will carry out a wide range of responsibilities, from messenger and valeting duties to food and beverage service".

Badar fought to stay in the UK but was sent to his home country, where he now lives in his parents' two-room home along with two brothers and five other relatives.
