Katy Perry is reportedly fuming after her ex-husband Russell Brand tweeted his well wishes before her Super Bowl halftime performance on Sunday.

The British actor and comedian very publicly showed his support for his ex in a tweet to his more than nine million followers.

Using the public platform to perhaps smooth things over after their divorce, he wrote, “Super Bowl may be baffling to Brits but half time show will be amazing. Good luck KP (sic).” But the pop star was said to be less than impressed that Russell chose arguably the biggest moment of her career to insert himself back in her life.

'This was the man who, quite literally, destroyed her heart'

“She couldn’t believe he’d say that after everything he put her through,” the insider told British newspaper The Sun. “This was the man who, quite literally, destroyed her heart. He sl*gged her off publicly around the world. Then on the biggest night of her life professionally, he could not resist involving himself.”

A source close to the 30-year-old claims she felt the message was inappropriate after he so cruelly dumped her via text 14 months into their marriage.

The singer has previously revealed that she was blindsided by the divorce, which came little more than a year after their whirlwind wedding in October 2010.

The Super Bowl night proved bigger than anyone expected, with a record 118.5 million viewers tuning in for the annual halftime show festivities.

Perry’s 13-minute extravaganza surpassed Bruno Mars’ efforts last year, which previously held the record for the most-watched halftime performance, by 3.2 million.

Along with performing a medley of her hits, she was also joined onstage by special guest stars Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott.
