Sandra Bullock’s son has no idea what she does for a living.

The 50-year-old actress has made a name for herself through various high profile roles, including the Oscar-winning 2009 drama The Blind Side.

However, Sandra says that while there are few people across the globe who wouldn’t recognise her, her five-year-old son Louis is oblivious about her career.

As she attended the world premiere of Minions in London, England, on Thursday night, Sandra admitted the main reason she took on the role of Scarlett Overkill in the movie was to fit in around her little boy.

“I wanted to stay home and drive him to school and they (the film-makers) said ‘We’ll come to where you are’,” she said on the red carpet, according to the Irish Examiner. “I was able to drop him to school, go to work and pick him up and now he gets to watch something I did and not know I’m in it. He doesn’t know this is what I do.”

Sandra’s role of Scarlett is a departure from her usual parts, and allows her to explore her villainous side.

However, she said that while she enjoyed being bad, she mainly agreed to the part because she knew Louis would like watching it.

“I wanted to make something my son could see and watch and enjoy, even though he doesn’t know what I do and he doesn’t know it’s me – I can sit in the theatre and watch him,” she said.

“Nothing makes me happier than hearing that boy laugh, (by) physical humour and animation so hopefully I’ll be able to do that.”
