The house is just over 100 years old, the actress who’s famed for her soapie role as nasty newshound Shakira says. Not that you’d ever guess there’s a century’s worth of history behind the newly painted white walls.
The updated look is a combination of ultra-modern chic combined with wood and earth tones. The focal point is the huge open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen area with its gas fireplace and floor-to-ceiling glass and wooden panels that open onto the lush garden and outdoor entertainment area.
The result is plenty of balmy summer breezes and lots of light filtering into the home, which is exactly what Dawn and her husband, Charlie Sapadin, head writer at soapie Rhythm City, had in mind.
