Jan Serfontein will play in the starting line-up for the Boks this weekend, for the first time. This comes after Francois Steyn's shock withdrawal.

Bulls centre Jan Serfontein will play his first match in a Springbok team on Saturday. After Bok centre Frans Steyn’s shock withdrawl from the group, the big question before Saturday’s Test against Wales was who would be chosen to play in his place.

The young centre has previously played as a replacement for the Boks, but said he was excited to be in the starting line-up. “I’m looking forward to playing with JP Pietersen. He’s experienced and has all the characteristics to be an outstanding No 13.”

Cheetahs lock Lood de Jager has also been included in a Bok team for the first time, on the reserve beench.
