As a single father raising a one-year-old daughter, Philippe Morgese realized he would have to learn how to style her hair.

The determined dad, from Florida, started playing around with different hairstyles. He started off by just using hair clips, before trying out pigtails.

After he got the hang of it, he tried his hand at more complicated styles with help from YouTube videos.

The trendy styles drew a lot of positive attention. This inspired the father to start the Daddy Daughter Hair Factory, where he would teach other fathers how to style their daughters' hair.

After reaching out to cosmetology school, the International Academy, got permission to host the classes at the school's facilities free of charge.

And the first night was a success.

Dads from different walks of life showed up to learn from Philippe.

"I asked the dads what they did for work, and it was an interesting bunch," said Philippe, adding that the participants were a mix of both married and single fathers.

"We had a prison guard, mechanic, general contractor, ATT tech, Apple tech, healthcare recruiter and a carpenter. Definitely out of their element but they were all excited to learn. It was beautiful :)"

Over 100 fathers have since participated in the course since it began four months ago.

And thanks to the support of his sponsors, he's managed to keep the events free.
