Spicy fish braai

Use a butterflied whole fish when available.

Preparation: Less than 1 hour

Serves: 4


Main Ingredients

30 ml no name apricot jam

1 clove garlic, finely chopped

15 ml ginger, grated

1 chilli, deseeded and finely chopped

30 ml PnP olive oil

800 grams hake fillets, fresh

1 pinch salt and milled pepper

1 lemon, quartered


  • Mix jam, garlic, ginger, chilli and olive oil together
  • Cut slits into hake fillets and brush generously with jam mixture
  • Season and braai over medium coals until golden and cooked through
  • Serve with a squeeze of lemon, salad and fresh bread
