"It was like torture and I could not sleep."

There’s nothing worse than getting a tattoo and then living to regret it at a later stage.

The ink patch on your skin is with you, literally, for life – unless you take steps to get rid of it by various methods, like laser removal or a variety of home "remedies".

But these treatments almost always leave a nasty reminder in the form of a scar on your skin.

Student Pasuda Reaw from Thailand learned this the hard way when she suffered severe scarring as a result of a chemical burn from a tattoo removal cream she used.

The 21-year-old art student told The Daily Mail that she wanted to remove a tattoo of roses that ran across her chest because she wanted to look more professional in the working environment.

She couldn't afford laser removal so opted for Rejuvi – which involves chemicals being applied to the skin.

It’s supposed to raise the ink pigments to the surface of your skin and form a scab that can be peeled off – but things didn’t go this way at all for Pasuda.

As the student documented her tattoo removal over a period of two months on her Instagram her followers could see how the removal cream had started to severely burn her skin.

Describing her horrific experience, Pasuda said, "I began the treatment and immediately it was itchy and hurting a lot. The skin has taken a long time to come off. It was like torture and I couldn’t sleep.

"What is left is worse than before. I don’t recommend this treatment because it hurts so badly and takes a long time. Laser is a lot of money but I wish I’d done that.

At times the pain of the itching and the scar was unbearable," she revealed.

After a month of excruciating pain and getting little sleep, Pasuda's tattoo finally peeled off leaving a puss-filled wound on her chest. As the wound healed it left massive unsightly scar tissue where the tattoo use to be.

Pasuda now uses Instagram to warn her followers against using unconventional methods to remove tattoos as it could end badly for them just like it did for her.

"I shared pictures as a warning to others to be careful about what they do," she concluded.
