“Mommy, I’m sorry for this but you’ll find my body in a coffin tomorrow.”

She had predicted her own death and even detailed it in several letters, weeks before she was brutally raped and murdered.

“Mommy, I’m sorry for this but you’ll find my body in a coffin tomorrow,” Camron Brits wrote in one of the letters found after her death, The Daily Voice reports.

“Life has tired and weakened me. The Lord must please forgive me.

“Tomorrow you’ll stand in front of my cross with many beautiful things on a list.”

Camron was raped and then murdered. Her half-naked body was discovered in bushes along Slangkop Road, close to where she lived with her family in Ocean View, Cape Town.

A month before her death, the teen had a nightmare in which she was gang-raped and murdered, but she couldn’t make out the identity of her killers.

Camron, a learner at Ocean View High School, then wrote letters foretelling her death and funeral. One of the letters was handed over to police as evidence.

According to her mother, Bereniece Brits (41), Camron had made plans to sleep over on Saturday night at a friend who lived nearby.

She went to fetch her daughter on Sunday morning to go to church but was shocked to find that Camron had never arrived, she told The Daily Voice.

A search began for the 14-year-old and her body was discovered later that afternoon.

She had been raped and choked to death with the hoodie she was wearing. Her body was covered in an orange blanket.

A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested and is currently in police custody, Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut, a spokesperson for the police, told YOU.

“An investigation led to the arrest of a 19-year-old male who is currently in detention.

“Once charged, he is due to make a court appearance on a charge of murder and rape.”

Ocean View CPF chairperson Cathy Cronje told EWN: “We condemn all killings in Ocean View, particularly the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl.”

There has been an upsurge in violent crime in the area, Cronje added. Camron was one of four people murdered in the community that weekend.

“We had four murders in our precinct this weekend. It’s not regular.”
