David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly planning a New-Year holiday to "talk through issues".

The sportsman and his wife have four children together but living in the spotlight isn't always easy. Constantly plagued by split rumours, the couple are always having to prove their relationship is on track. Now sources claim they are planning a private getaway to the Maldives, where they can finally reconnect and address any worries.

'The time they've spent apart has been a real bone of contention between her and David'

"They will try to spend some quality time together in the Maldives, and talk through any issues that have been troubling them both of late," an insider told Britain's new! magazine. "The time they've spent apart has been a real bone of contention between her and David, and Victoria is hoping the idyllic surroundings will help them work through stuff without arguing."

Their schedules have been very busy of late, but the pair put on a united front at the British Fashion Awards on Monday. They even wore coordinated suits to show how in-sync they are, and Victoria recently gushed about her loving husband. She especially likes the way the both put family above everything else in life.

“David is very romantic and we regularly do lovely things to surprise each other," she said in an interview with People magazine.

“The first time I met David, nearly 20 years ago, we were at a football match. After the game all the other players were having a drink with their friends and David was standing with his mum and dad and his younger sister Joanne. Family is important to him.

"When he proposed he asked my dad first, which is such a respectful thing to do.”
