These parts of Joburg will be without water after 10 pm tonight

Residents in parts of Johannesburg will have to cope without water for 44 hours.

Residents in parts of Johannesburg will have to cope without water for 44 hours while the City carries out emergency repairs this weekend.

Last night the municipality announced on Twitter that the water supply would be cut by about ten o'clock in the evening.

The neighborhoods that will be affected include North Riding and surrounding areas, Talavera facilities, Kya Sands Northlands Business and Deco Park Roads, Johannesburg North, Craigavon, Maroeladal, Cedar Lakes, Cedar Creek, Broadacres, Cedar Avenue West, Needwood, Chartwell, Farmall and Steyn City.

"All the streets in the above areas will be without water for 44 hours," the organisation tweeted. "We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this."

They asked residents to use water sparingly to avoid any further inconvenience.

water tanks will be available at the following stations:


  • Cedar Lakes and the BP service station at Broadacres Mall


  • Northlands Business Park and Deco


  • Creche Agulhas Road


  • Hyperion Road (Hampstead Gardens)


  • Cedar Creek


  • Precisionstraat


  • Thor Tree Complex


  • Cedar Avenue West


  • Talavera complex


  • Runnymeadlaan


  • 3rd Avenue, Chartwell

    Another tweet earlier today said water will be fully restored after repairs.
