Meet the 10-year-old child prodigy, who has just graduated from high school and wants to design a rocket that can travel faster than the speed of light.

This kid is going places. At the age of four, he was admitted to Mensa, and just six years later, at the age of 10, has graduated from high school, in Sacramento, California.

Tanishq Abraham has great ambitions. “I really want to be a scientist, or the president of the United States,” he says determinedly. “I’ll make the United States more healthy for us and more efficient.”

He was home-schooled by his parents after he wasn’t challenged enough. “He just jumped from kindergarten level to about third grade,” his mom, Taji, says proudly.

"The way my brain works is that when you give me something, information about that topic comes into my mind," he said. "I don't know what it is, but that's how it is for me."

Tanishq has discovered a supernova (the explosive death of a star) through an online astronomy project called Zooniverse. He was given his high school diploma in a ceremony at the California Automobile Museum in Sacremento. He plans on finishing his associate degree at American River College and then moving on to the University of California at Davis next year. Tanishq’s little sister is equally bright, and was also admitted to Mensa at the age of four. He likes to program for fun. ““I like particle physics, all the anti-matter and the fate of the universe and the Big Bang theory.”

His ambitions lie beyond the limitations of the stratosphere. “I’d like to design a rocket that can go father than the speed of light.”
