"It was just really hurtful because I was so confident the day before and it just changed my view of myself."

Tayja Jones had a magical night at the prom -- and, like any girl her age, she shared photos from the once-in-a-lifetime event on Facebook. But when she awoke the next day, the 17-year-old, who attends Pottsgrove High School in Pennsylvania, found herself at the receiving end of some horribly cruel cyber-bullying.

"There were just like so many rude remarks and negative comments about how I looked," Tayja told Fox29. "People I didn't know just like that dress is not for her, she looks like a fat something...

According to her mother Natina Parker, the teenager was "just really depressed and sad".

"She doesn’t want to go out the house. She doesn’t want to go to school. She doesn’t want to go nowhere."

As Tayja's story spread, some kind folks on the internet decided to take a stand, defending her against the hurtful comments the trolls had hurled at her. Using the hashtag #TeamTayja, they shared messages of support for the teenager. "Make up was on point! Hair was perfect! Dress slaying, beautiful in every way! No one should be judged like that!" commented one Twitter user. Another commented, "Ur make up was done beautifully and your hair was on pointtttt don't let some1 w/ a low confidence in themselves put u down girl #TeamTayja".
