And he made the dress himself.

We've seen our share of epic marriage proposals, but this one is truly magical.

When Imgur user jel2930 decided to pop the question, he knew just how to make the special moment unforgettable.

Knowing that his girlfriend and was a massive fan of Disney's Beauty and the Beast (TBH, who isn't?), he came up with a truly magical idea: to recreate that iconic scene from the animated movie.

"This is Cara, my best friend and partner in crime," he wrote on the platform.

"She grew up admiring Belle from Beauty and the Beast."

But of course, in order to recreate that famous scene, he needed the dress.

"[So] I decided to make her the dress to coincide with my proposal." And the results are nothing short of magical.
Tale as old as time

What's even more amazing is the fact that he made the dress himself "in a basement with a cheap sewing machine and a dream. And coffee. Lots of coffee."

"Learned [sewing] for this project. Kinda sewing burnt out, so I think I'm hanging up my bobbins for awhile."

And just like Belle, Cara is a big book fan.

"She's an aspiring librarian, so luckily she mentioned she wanted to check out some books that evening," he wrote, explaining why he chose a library as the location of the proposal.

As jel2930 eloquently put it, "Lights, music, library, dress, ring. Couldn't ask for more."
