No one drops pearls of wisdom that way dads do!

This rings true for plenty of SA's stars. We caught up with a few to find out what the best advice they ever got from dads was...

Danilo Acquisto, TV and radio presenter

Danilo Aquisto

"Ironically the best piece of advice my dad's given me is to delay gratification. I'm a reactionary person and need to do things in the moment, as they are, how I'm feeling is how I need to respond and sometimes it's not the healthiest way to deal with things and if you just take some time thinking before you speak, thinking before you buy, thinking before you act, really engaging with things, you'll start to come out with the truth. So by delaying gratification you don't get worked up and make decisions based on your emotions and feelings but rather get excited by the truth and the final product."

"My dad is one of the most wise people I know, I could never tell you what the best piece of advice is that he gave me, he's downloaded a plethora of knowledge but more especially wisdom... He taught us to never judge. To treat everyone with kindness love and respect regardless of their circumstances or background. He has always taught us about discipline and how it's the one thing that you can muster that brings you closer to God, he has taught us to put God first and everything else will follow, and always said that is our attitude not our aptitude that will determine our altitude. There's much more great advice that he's given us as a family and me as a son, but I guess I'll have to write a book about it as there's to much for this small space."
