Well, according to this study anyway.

Gleeden, a dating website specially made for married woman who want to cheat on their partners, found that the second Monday after Christmas is the one day you're most likely to have an affair.

So that would make 9 January that ill-fated day for your relationship.

"Routine may weigh down on individuals, or be rather oppressive when it follows extended periods devoted to family life. This is the result of a legitimate human need: to have fun and think of oneself," explains Solene Paillet, the director of communications at Gleeden.

Of the 13 000 Gleeden users surveyed, a whopping 71 percent said they plan to be active on the site at the beginning of this year.

52 percent of those say their wondering eye is a way to "regain their freedom after the holidays".

"By registering with Gleeden or spending more time on the online platform, members are seeking a means to inject a little excitement into their everyday life…"
