It's the first time Oscar will discuss the night he shot and killed Reeva.

M-net has acquired the broadcast rights for the first television interview that convicted killer Oscar Pistorius has given since the night he shot and killed his girlfriend.

The broadcaster announced that it will air Oscar Pistorius: The Interview this Friday (24 June) at 10.55pm, seconds after it is broadcast by British channel ITV in the UK.

It is also set to air at 10.55pm on M-net City (Channel 115 on DStv).

In the TV special, investigative journalist Mark Williams-Thomas talks to Oscar about the night he shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.

"We will have the Oscar Pistorius interview on our screens literally as the end credits are rolling on ITV," Jan du Plessis, director of M-net channels, said in a statement on the channel's website.

The interview will be packaged as a special edition of the current affairs programme Carte Blanche.

"The Carte Blanche team, who has been following the trial intensively from the start, will add to the conversation with their valuable insights and comments with the Carte Blanche special."
