That's 2 000 times!

Meet the 44-year-old, grey-haired Air Force veteran who has unfailingly visited Disneyland theme park in Anaheim every single day for the last five years.

Jeff Reitz's visits to the theme park started back in 2012. He and a friend, Tonya Mickesh, faced unemployment and used the visits to the Magic Kingdom as a way to lift their spirits.

"It was something to do to keep things fun,” says Jeff, who recently celebrated 2 000 days of religious visits to the World of Wonder.

Jeff landed a job at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System and Tonya found employment too, but Jeff, from Huntington Beach in California, never stopped going.

On 22 June he celebrated his 2000th visit to the magical theme park and admitted he has his sights set on claiming a place in the Guinness World Book of Records.

The Disney-crazy veteran says he’s made many friends from his daily visits and even met his current girlfriend, Karen Bell, there.

During the week, Jeff visits the theme park during the afternoon or at night while his weekend visits are usually at random.

“It’s become a living breathing thing along the way,” he says, adding that if he’s not on one of the rides, he finds a spot to sit and watches other people while he enjoys the background music.

Jeff, who has kept his parking tickets ever since his first visit, now holds a visitor’s pass, which will allow him access to the park till January 2018.

But he adds that once that expires, he’s unsure of whether his trips to the theme park will continue.

“My current pass is good until January of 2018, then we’ll see.”
