A huge Beyoncé fan, India Ross channelled her inner Queen B by recreating the pop star's 2015 Met Gala look for her prom. Read more: Beyoncé shows some serious skin in barely-there Met Gala gown The St. Louis teen teamed up with local designer Toi Hall of Toi Box Couture and made her own beautiful dress inspired by the sheer Givenchy dress with colourful crystal embellishments.

“My date and I felt like Beyoncé and Jay-Z,” she told BuzzFeed. “It wasn’t prom, it felt like we were at the Grammys, everyone slayed.” The 18-year-old purchased her own material at American retail store Walmart, Michaels and eBay to make sure her dream of opening a clothing store come to life by her fashionable statement.

“Mesh material with over 2,000 hand-placed crystals was used to create my dress,' she said, revealing that the whole project cost her about $800 (R12 500),” she said. Read more: Here’s something magical you can do with your old matric dance dress

As for the fashion designer, he told MailOnline that it was a 'tedious pleasure' to put together the dress, which presented a more opaque nude fabric to comply with school dress code rules.

Styling her hair in a blonde coloured high-twist pony tail just like the ‘Lemonade’ singer, India admitted that she also drew inspiration from Beyoncé make-up and jewellery.

The self-proclaimed fashionista plans on studying a double major in Fashion Business and fashion Merchandising at the Columbia College.

“I have my own sense of style, but Beyoncé is my inspiration,” she told Us Weekly.
