Hackers and internet criminals don’t take holidays so make sure you safeguard yourself with this advice from YOU columnist and trauma counsellor Debbi Rosowsky.

*Unsolicited SMSes may contain malicious links. Don’t respond to them.

*Guard your details - internet experts predict more and increasingly sophisticated attacks on social networking sites. Don’t give out your details

*Update secureware - a resurgence of large-scale worm and Trojan attacks is also expected. Be prepared.

*Be legal - hackers target users of pirated software because they know they’re afraid of downloading security patches for their applications. Don’t be a target.

*Spy on your house! Remote sensors and cameras can transmit pictures and information via the internet.
