Two Grammy noms is just not enough for Kanye West

Kanye West is venting about the Grammys again, this time after hearing he’d been nominated for just two 2014 awards – Best Rap Song for New Slaves and Best Rap Album for Yeezus .

Kanye, who’s boycotted the awards in the past, was predictably outraged about his exclusion and blasted the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for not giving him the nominations he felt he deserved during a concert in Phoenix, Arizona.

“I’m 36-years-old and I have 21 Grammys. That’s the most Grammys of any 36-year-old. Out of all those 21 Grammys, I’ve never won a Grammy against a white artist,” Kanye ranted to a stadium full of fans. “So when the Grammy nominations came out and Yeezus is the top one or two album on every single list, but only gets two nominations from the Grammys, what are they trying to say? Did they think that I wouldn’t notice? Do they think that, someway, I don’t have the power to completely diminish all their credibility at this moment?

“When you see me talking about what people are doing when I say ‘marginalised,’ when I say ‘boxed in,’ when I say, ‘hold back,’ when I say people are afraid of the truth, that’s one example right in front of you. And people come to me and they congratulate me on those two nominations. F--k those nominations! It’s all but patronising. It’s only patronising. Don’t patronise me. I would have rather had no nominations.”

We’re kinda hoping he wins at least one gong because that acceptance speech is going to be something else!
