This time it was Jozi-based team Sugar and Spice who reached the end of their road.

The Ultimate Braai Master outdoor cooking competition heats up as the tenth hopeful team was eliminated from the show last night on e.tv.

And this time it was the Jozi-based team Sugar and Spice who reached the end of their road. Braai Master Celeste Raynard (47) says if they would have won, she would have used her share of the money to complete and publish her book. While Braai Buddy Chantal Geerdes (43) wanted to donate some of her winnings to an animal shelter.

Celeste and Chantal share a passion for food and traveling. As first timers to the Ultimate Braai Master, they were ready to be put to the ultimate test – from their cooking skills, fitness levels, intellect, integrity and embracing the unknown. But last night the grueling cooking challenge was one too many for these friends with the team motto of “Through thick and thin, sick and sin.”

Last night contestants went down to the river where they got into rafts, with their cooler boxes loaded with goods from the pantry. They spend two hours paddling down the river, through some rapids until they reached a beautiful beach stop - the location of their challenge. They were then asked to produce three types of braaied pizzas, but unfortunately for ‘Team Sugar and Spice’ this was the last dish they’ve cooked for the Ultimate Braai Master judges.
