Victoria and David Beckham apparently felt like "smaller fish" while living in America.

The couple tied the knot in 1999 and their star statuses have grown massively since then. Victoria has a fashion empire under her belt while her husband is currently setting up a soccer team in Miami, after retiring from playing the sport professionally two years ago.

They lived in the US for a while during David's stint with the team LA Galaxy but moved back to the UK in 2013 with their brood, sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz and daughter Harper. According to sources it's still a big adjustment for the pair.

'David and Victoria were smaller fish in Hollywood and it was easier to go incognito'

"David and Victoria were smaller fish in Hollywood and it was easier to go incognito. In the UK, they feel everyone's watching them - they can't all go out for the day on a whim," a source told British magazine Closer.

At the end of last month the clan took a punting trip in English city Cambridge, but it apparently took a lot of planning. Victoria reportedly hired a team of personal assistants, nannies, bodyguards and drivers to ensure as much privacy as possible.

It's gotten to the point that the brunette beauty even requests her assistants deal with payments due to her worrying about what onlookers will think.

"Victoria hates paying for anything in public as she gets paranoid about people judging her on how much she tips or worries she'll be photographed doing something like forgetting her PIN code," the source added.

When they do venture out of their home together, Victoria and David are said to make sure they co-ordinate their looks for the waiting paparazzi. They also plan what their offspring will wear, according to the insider.
