Bloemfontein’s YouTube singing sensation Vicus Visser (17) is taking his first steps towards fame and fortune, and he’s taking his brother with him!

Vincent Visser (21) will take the stage alongside his younger brother, and the pair will make their first public on-stage performance at the Earth Hour Concert at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday night.

Organisers are expecting a capacity crowd, while Vicus and Vincent will be backstage with their own personal hero’s, The Bala Brothers and the Soweto Gospel Choir.

“I’m so excited! I’m going to be on stage with Grammy Award nominees and famous South African singers, so I am living my dream. I wish everyone’s career could start off this way,” says Vicus.

His older brother can barely contain himself.

“I am so blessed, what an opportunity for me! When the YouTube clip of Vicus became so famous, I never dreamed I would be on this journey with him. Music is our passion, and it’s going to be very exciting to sing with my brother in our first real concert,” says Vincent.

Their parents, mom Elsie Peters, and step-dad, Fanie Peters, will also be there to watch.

“God has blessed us, and God’s work is always on time. We have been waiting our whole lives for an opportunity like this, and now it’s here. I can only thank God,” says Elsie.

Fanie has thrown his full support behind the boys.

“They’ve got such an amazing talent and they deserve all the success they get. They’re never given up, no matter what challenges they’ve face, and now it’s paying off. God has been good to us, and it feels like we’re taking our first steps into a new, blessed life,” he says.

If you’re worried that Vicus and Vincent will fall prey to South Africa’s notoriously underpaid music industry, fear no more: 5fm DJ and Idols South Africa judge, Gareth Cliff, has taken the brothers under his wing and will be managing them through One on One Productions, alongside the company’sRina Broomsberg.
