Vin Diesel fought back tears at the Fast & Furious 7 premiere last night.

Stars turned out in LA yesterday for the screening of the latest instalment in the car movie franchise, with Furious castmembers Vin, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Jason Statham and Michelle Rodriguez all posing on the red carpet.

While the event was a happy occasion it was tinged with sadness, as the movie marks Paul Walker's last ever cinema outing, after he tragically passed away in 2013 during a break in the filming schedule.

'Losing him was a blow to all of us'

"You know I am going to speak. I'm going to tell you, last year it was really tough to come back to work," Vin told the crowd outside the cinema.

He revealed that the cast and director James Wan all pulled together in the aftermath of Paul's death.

The 47-year-old said the movie was a tribute to their fallen co-star, and he hoped it would continue his legacy. He also urged people to appreciate those around them.

"Because you just don't know if it's the last time you're going to see them," he sighed.

Furious stars Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Elsa Pataky and newcomer Nathalie Emmanuel were also in attendance.

Producer Neal H. Moritz, who has worked on all seven films, also shared some words.

Holding a piece of paper, the award winning producer had to stop his hand from shaking.

"As you all know, we lost someone very dear to us during the filming. Paul was the most decent, thoughtful, caring human being I have ever met. Losing him was a blow to all of us.

"I know Paul is smiling down on us right now. We love you forever Paul. And you will always be a part of all of us," he said.
