“I trust you’ll understand my frustration."

After more than two and a half months, police are still seeking a statement on the cause of the fire in which Jacques and Sunita van Dyk died.

“There are still no new developments,” says Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, police spokesperson.

“Results of certain reports are still outstanding.”

Jacques and Sunita died more than two and a half months ago when their house – just outside Wellington – burned down. Their bodies were discovered in the bathroom next to the main bedroom, where Sunita lay in a bathtub filled with water.

Shortly after their death, the rumours started doing the rounds that Sunita had a relationship with Danie le Roux, head of Paarl Gymnasium Primary School, where she was a teacher.

In an exclusive interview with YOU, Danie denied the affair and said that he doesn’t know why Sunita ‘spread stories’.

The private detective that Jacques’ family hired to investigate the death of the couple, says he’s still waiting that the 205-application, which was submitted on his behalf, be approved so that he can gain access to the data on Jacques and Sunita’s cell phones.

During the recent school holiday, there was speculation around Danie’s return to the school at the start of the new term.

Initially, there were reports that he would take unpaid leave but the Western Cape Education Department later said it’s not the case.

Netwerk24 reported that Danie again denied he had an ‘adulterous relationship’ with Sunita when he was asked about it and mentioned that he has sought legal advice to stop the defamation of his character and restore his reputation.

“I trust you’ll understand my frustration and will see my threat in the light of the trauma that my family had to endure for the last two months.”
