What to watch this weekend

Kick off the weekend tonight with a great combination of action and drama provided by Robert de Niro and French actor Jean Reno in the 1998 movie Ronin. On Saturday there’s a cool animated story for the kids, and you can watch John Travolta shake his (younger) hips in Staying Alive. Indiana Jones fans are in for a treat on Sunday night!

A couple of mercenaries working a high-profile job in France find out someone’s been tattling on them and their job. How do they solve the problem? They go on a car-chase rampage through the city. The fabulous cast includes Robert de Niro, Jean Reno and Stellan Skarsgård.

Little ones are often up early, especially on the weekend! Keep them busy with this fun animated movie about a teen visiting her eccentric scientist father who is obsessed with finding the civilization of tiny people he’s convinced is living in the forest next to his house. She doesn’t believe him – until she’s magically transported deep into the forest to help the fairies battle the baddies.

Staying Alive

Take a trip down disco memory lane with this sequel to Saturday Night Fever. This time Tony Manero is trying to make it as a dancer on Broadway. Watch out for a cameo appearance by Sylvester Stallone.

The famed archaeologist is called back into action to prevent a mysterious artefact from getting into the wrong hands. The baddies are of course Russian, and they’ve sent in their top agent to steal the powerful relic.

This dramatic, heartwrenching movie looks at the aftermath of the devastating tsunami that hit Thailand in 2004. The story is told through the eyes of a tourist family spending Christmas in the Asian country when the unthinkable happens. Starring Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts.
