There's some classic Anime action for the kids in Pokemon, a bit of rugby for dad and hunky Channing Tatum in Magic Mike for mom on the box this weekend!

Friday 15 November

Pokemon Ranger & The Temple Of The Sea

e.tv 2.30 pm

The perfect movie to keep the kids busy on a Friday afternoon. Pokemon Ranger Jackie takes on a bunch of evil pirates who’re causing merry mayhem on the Seven Seas.

O’ Brother, Where Art Thou?

SABC3 8.30 pm In the mood for something off-the-wall? Then this movie directed by the Coen brothers is just the thing. George Clooney, John Turturro and Tim Nelson star as a trio of singing convicts on the run in the deep South in the 1930s. Lots of laughs and great music.

Saturday 16 November

e.tv 2 pm

If it’s old-school comedy you want, this movie is for you. Daniel Stern (one of the crooks in the Home Alone movies) is once again up to no good, this time running from the cops and pretending to be a scoutmaster whose survival skills are more likely to get him into trouble than out of it.

Eight Below

SABC3 7.30 pm The pretty guy from the Fast & Furious movies (Paul Walker) swaps horsepower for dogpower in this film about a sled dog trainer who has to evacuate his polar base due to a storm and is forced to leave his beloved huskies behind. The idea is to rescue them later, but then the mission is called off .

Sunday 17 November

Magic Mike

M-Net 8 pm

Eye candy for the ladies. There’s no real storyline and the humour is pretty average, but the minute the music starts playing none of that matters – because Channing Tatum and his buddies are ripping off their clothes and flexing their muscles as the cheesiest male strippers around.

International rugby: South Africa vs Scotland

M-Net 5 pm

An afternoon nap might be a good idea for rugby fans, cos it’s going to be a late night as the Boks take on the Scots in their backyard.
