Will Smith made sure his wife Jada had some “beefcake at home” while she was working on Magic Mike XXL.

The actress-and-singer has joined the cast of the male stripper sequel, which sees Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello reprising their roles. Will was aware his wife was spending all day surrounded by hunks on set, so didn’t want her to miss out when she left work either.

“You got to be a lot of man to handle a lot of woman like that. So I felt really confident when she was going into that set, into that situation," he told ET. "I just had to make sure she had some beefcake at home too."

'Boy that girl is 23, do not go on that set out of shape'

There was another reason for Will’s dedication to the gym though. The 46-year-old actor stars alongside Margot Robbie (24) in his new flick Focus and he didn’t want to be outshone on screen – especially as Jada kept poking fun at what the pair might look like next to each other.

“Jada kept saying, ‘Boy that girl is 23, do not go on that set out of shape,’” he giggled.

Will takes on the role of Nicky in Focus, a grifter who begins to teach Margot’s character Jess the craft. Things quickly become tangled when the pair get romantically involved.

It seems Will didn’t have much to worry about as Margot has just revealed that she was petrified of meeting him for the first time. She was on holiday in Croatia when she found out about her audition, but was up against it as she had to make it to New York quickly. A combination of rushing for a flight, lost luggage and soggy clothes made her worry about the first impression she was making.

“So I walk into the audition in wet sneakers and denim shorts and a pyjama shirt, which was the only dry thing I had before they lost my luggage. I just walked in. And I was like, 'I cannot meet Will Smith in my pyjama shirt,'” the mortified star recalled to People.
