Wimbledon day four - five facts

It's day four of Wimbledon, and here are five things you probably didn't know.

Five facts on Thursday, the fourth day of Wimbledon:

- John Isner, Denis Kudla and Jack Sock are three of the four American men through to the second round and all play Thursday. It's the fewest number of American men to reach the second round at Wimbledon since 2008 when there were also four. Last year, no American man reached the third round for the first time since 1912.

- World number one Rafael Nadal and Lukas Rosol meet on Centre Court in a rematch of their 2012 Wimbledon clash which saw the Czech upset the two-time champion in five sets. Nadal will be hoping to avoid a repeat of that performance and remain on course for a third French Open-Wimbledon double.

- Seven-time champion Roger Federer will be hoping he can maintain his record of going onto win the title at any event where he has defeated Gilles Muller. The two will play each other for a fourth time when they meet on Centre Court.

- Ana Ivanovic and Zheng Jie meet for a fourth time. A few weeks after capturing her lone Grand Slam title at the 2008 French Open, and in her first tournament as world number one, Ivanovic fell to Zheng in straight sets in the third round of Wimbledon. Zheng went on to become the first Chinese to reach a Grand Slam semi-final.

- Maria Sharapova tries to avoid a repeat of last year's second round when she fell to 131st-ranked qualifier Michelle Larcher de Brito. On Thursday, she takes on another qualifier in the form of Switzerland's Timea Bacsinszky.
