Burn the house down, Christmas is cancelled.

Cheryl, from Frankston in Australia found herself on the receiving end of an unwanted Christmas decoration this past weekend - a deadly tiger snake hiding in her Christmas tree.

Believed to be about 91 cm long, the reptile was perfectly disguised as tinsel.

Thankfully, she "she didn't panic", wrote Snake Catcher Victoria Australia on Facebook.

"She just took a photo and sent it to the snake catcher, me, and 20 minutes later I had the little bugger in a bag."

"Have a happy and safe holiday season and be nice to snakes."
