David Beckham is fuming at criticism from strangers over his daughter Harper's (4) still using a dummy.

Photos of David (40) with his adorable daughter and his eldest son Brooklyn (16) out for lunch in Hollywood over the weekend went viral. Dressed in a sweet pink sundress, David and Victoria's only daughter hopped happily along next to her dad, dummy firmly clamped in her mouth. Parenting experts from all over the globe weighed in on the fact that Harper was happily sucking on a dummy. Clare Byam-Cook, a former midwife, told MailOnline, "I can't believe she is still using a dummy. If she has a dummy in their mouth at this age, at four, it really can damage her teeth and it is very likely to hinder speech development."

Experts aside, fans took to Twitter to comment on the tot and her binky.

"She's so adorable but a permanent dummy at age 4? C'mon Mr and Mrs #Beckham. Time for #tough love or down payment on #orthodontics," one fan tweeted.

But the former footballer was having none of it. He took to Instagram to voice his disgust that people were criticising his parenting. “Why do people feel they have the right to criticize a parent about their own children without having any facts ??" he wrote in the caption that accompanied a screen shot of the original article. In his post, the star said little Harper wasn't feeling well, and the dummy helped comfort her.

"Everybody who has children knows that when they aren't feeling well or have a fever you do what comforts them best and most of the time it's a pacifier so those who criticize think twice about what you say about other people's children because actually you have no right to criticize me as a parent ..."
