Bacon & Cheese Breadsticks

Best make plenty of these fancy schmancy (but easy-peasy) twisted bacon and cheese breadsticks – because they’re crunchy and more-ish and #JustDelicious.

1 roll (400g) store-bought puff pastry

15ml (1T) olive oil

pinch of salt

ground black pepper

sprinkle of cayenne pepper

200g mature cheddar cheese, grated

50g parmesan cheese, grated

1 packet (200g) Eskort Streaky Bacon

  • Preheat oven to 200°C and grease a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  • Roll out your pastry on a lightly floured surface and brush with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle with salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper then sprinkle over the cheeses.
  • Cover the rolled pastry with clingfilm and press down on the surface (use the bottom of the baking sheet) to ensure that the cheese is firmly pressed into the pastry.
  • Remove the clingfilm and, using a sharp knife, cut your pastry into 1,5cm to 2cm strips.
  • Pick up your strips one by one and line up with a piece of streaky bacon, then twist the pastry and bacon together from each end to make a twisted tube.
  • Place on the prepared baking sheet and repeat until all the strips are twisted.
  • Pick up any cheese that has fallen off and press into the strips of pastry.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown, remove from oven and allow to cool a little before serving.
