Italian Hot Dog

Not specifically from Italy, and having originated in New Jersey in the good 'ol US of A, these #JustDelicious hot dogs are so popular we couldn't resist making our version.

Ingredients

1 packet Eskort Mediterranean Pork Sausage

 olive oil for frying

6 ciabatta rolls

butter for rolls

1 red pepper, de-seeded and sliced into strips

1 yellow pepper, de-seeded and sliced into strips

1 green pepper, de-seeded and sliced into strips

1 onion, cut into half moons

5ml Italian herb

stomato sauce and mustard sauce for serving

Method

  • Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the sausages until brown.
  • Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Butter the rolls and set aside.
  • In the same pan, fry the peppers, onion and herbs until softened.
  • Remove from the heat and set aside.
  • Place the sausages on the rolls and top with the peppers and onion mixture.
  • Serve with the tomato sauce and mustard sauce.
